About Graytail Property Works

I’m Jared Crouch, the hands (and tools) behind Graytail Property Works.

With over 20 years experience in highly technical industrial maintenance and engineering, I now bring the same precision, reliability, and attention to detail to every home project I take on. From the leaky faucet to patching that hole in your drywall, I believe every job—big or small—deserves to be done right the first time.

I’ve called Connecticut home my whole life, with the Crouch family rooted here since the 1700s. When I’m not working, you might find me sailing on Long Island Sound or down in my workshop fixing antique watches.

I value honesty, integrity, and clear communication, and I’m always open to tackling the odd jobs and unique projects that make your home run smoothly and efficiently. My goal is simple: to be the person you trust to get it done, and done well.

What kind of plumbing services do you offer?
What kind of electrical services do you offer?

The State of Connecticut requires a plumbing trade license for the installation, repair, replacement or maintenance of water systems for human usage, up to and including the closest shut-off valve before that fixture or equipment (Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 20-330(3)). Graytail Property Works does not hold a plumbing license, so all plumbing work is limited to repairs and replacements of things after a shut-off valve. Examples include replacing an already installed kitchen or bathroom faucet, toilet, washing machine, garbage disposal, etc.

The State of Connecticut requires an electrical trade license for the installation, maintenance, or repair of any appliance, fixture, or equipment that uses electrical energy. Graytail Property Works does not hold any electrical licensing. An exception to the rather all-encompassing rule above is that a license is not required for work done to things of a size customarily used for domestic use, the work is done at an outlet or connection previously installed by someone with the proper license, and that all work is limited to that appliance or fixture (Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 20-340(5)). Examples include changing an already installed receptacle, switch, light fixture, ceiling fan, etc.
